A spectacular trip AVM style
From July 20 to July 29
Iceland is, by excellence, the land of contrasts: incandescent volcanoes and lava, huge glaciers and icebergs, geysers with boiling waters and flowing waterfalls of icy waters, plumbeous skies and sparkling rainbows, dark nights and nights magically lit by the northern lights, winter days almost without light and summer almost without darkness. With these contrasts, whatever they may be, we will always be able to experience uncontrollable wonder, to find infinite beauty, to live emotions never experienced before. If it is true that there is the Africa blues, it is equally true that returning from a trip to the land of trolls and elves, you can claim to have caught the Iceland blues, a pain from which you would never want to be healed.
It is precisely with the will to give freedom to the innate desire in us to discover, to be amazed, to get excited, that we at AVM Trekking have come up with this type of trip to Iceland. It is a trip that wants to leave, in those who will take it with us, a wonderful memory and the desire to return to the island to discover other wonders. In fact, it is not with a single trip of 9 days that you will see and experience all of Iceland but it is equally true that the hiking tour that we offer is a concentration of many Icelandic beauties in which you will be able to say that you have seen and experienced, not in a hop on hop off style, absent-mindedly and superficially, but with the right times and ways.
We will do several excursions on foot, crossing lava flows as if we were on the moon, amongst volcanic cones in the centre of Iceland, black sands of beaches along the ocean, we will literally immerse ourselves in the vapours of flowing waterfalls, we will travel the tundra between huge ice caps, we will walk over the caps themselves, feeling the ice and the snow crunch under our feet, we will walk amongst volcanic hills that are not black but "painted" by a rainbow of red, orange, yellow, blue, depending on the metals that determine them, we will immerse ourselves in the warm and healthy waters of the volcanic springs, we will see canyons with creative shapes, we will be amazed at the explosions of boiling waters of a geyser, we will cross, as in no other place on the Planet, the tectonic fault that separates the European and North American plates, where the continental shields are separated by a few mm per year, we will see the ancient houses of the Vikings, we will caress the beautiful small Icelandic horses, we will appreciate the hospitality of the Icelandic people.
We will do and live all of this and more, not as simple and ordinary tourists taking selfies but as real travellers who want to discover a land of wonders.
The hike will be accompanied by the Naturalist and Environmental Excursion Guide Piermaria Greppi.

Difficulties: the planned excursions do not present technical difficulties (no iron paths, rock or ice climbing, torrent crossings), they take place on well-marked paths without extreme slopes. The maximum difficulty is E in the scale of hiking difficulties (see info in the registration form). A good physical form is required in any case and always for excursion activities by practicing motor activities during the week as well as a good amount of hiking throughout the year. The glacier excursions are simple, without dangers and with modest slopes. Non-slip traction cleats are required here (every participant must purchase before departure). These are the simpler traction cleats and not the mountaineering traction cleats.
